Household Recyclables
In order to comply with State Assembly Bill 939, which required all cities and counties to reduce their waste 50% by the year 2000, the City of Escondido adopted a mandatory recycling ordinance. You will be provided with a blue cart for all your recycling. This cart is for recyclables only, trash and greens are handled differently.  Please have your cart out at the curb by 6:00am on your collection day. The cart must be placed in the gutter with the wheels against the curb. Make sure the cart is at least two feet away from your trash cart, greens cans, and any other obstructions such as cars, telephone poles and mailboxes. Recyclables that are placed outside of your cart will not be collected. Please call our office for additional service.
